Immigration Canada announced additional measures aimed at attracting more global tech talent to Canada.

New 3-year open work permit for H-1B visa holders!

IRCC will improve labour mobility in North America by creating a streamlined work permit for H-1B speciality occupation visa holders in the USA to apply to come to Canada.

As of July 16th 2023, H1-B holders in the US and their accompanying immediate family members will be eligible to apply to come to Canada.

You are in the USA for years with the hope to get a Green card.
You are tired and frustrated!

Canada is starting a special stream for people like you.

  • Holders of valid H-1B visas will be able to relocate to Canada with an Open work permit for up to 3 years.
  • What does it mean? You do not need to look for an employer in Canada. You do not need a job offer from a Canadian employer prior to relocation.
  • Once you enter Canada, your work permit will allow you to work for any Canadian employer and even remotely for your current employer in the USA.
  • You will be free to open your own business or acquire a business in Canada.
  • Your family members will be able to join you with work, study, or visitor records.
  • You will have a chance to accumulate Canadian experience and qualify for the Canadian Permanent Residency.
